TALENSI (TONGO-YAMERIGA-SHEAGA-DUUSI-PELUNGU BITUMEN OVERLAY ROAD)
Hon. DCE John Millim today embarked on a field inspection of ongoing and proposed road infrastructure projects across the Talensi District, reaffirming government’s commitment to improving connectivity and accelerating local development.
The inspection covered the Tongo – Yameriga – Sheaga – Duusi – Pelungu road corridor, where work has officially commenced with the opening of the road, paving the way for the much-anticipated bitumen overlay.
During the visit, the Hon. DCE:* Assessed progress on the initial road opening works
* Inspected the proposed contractor camp site at Sheaga
* Engaged directly with engineers and officials from Araco Company Ltd (ACL)
In a related development, the Hon. DCE also visited road works being undertaken by Earl International Group, where sections of the road are being rehabilitated and opened using mine waste materials, improving access within the district.
These interventions form part of Government’s Resetting Agenda, focused on strengthening infrastructure, boosting economic activity, and improving livelihoods across Talensi.
