TALENSI DISTRICT ASSEMBLY ACCOUNTS TO THE PEOPLE ON DEVELOPMENT INTERVENTIONS FOR 2025 AND 2026
Exactly one week ago, on Sunday, 25th October 2026, the Talensi District Assembly held its Accounting to the People Forum at the forecourt of the District Assembly, bringing together citizens, traditional authorities, stakeholders and development partners to account for the Assembly’s development efforts and interventions.
The forum provided an opportunity to present progress made in 2025 and 2026 across key development sectors, including Government Flagship Programmes, Assembly Priority Projects, Health, Education, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Water and Sanitation, Roads, Local Economic Development and Youth Empowerment.
The engagement also highlighted the contributions of our development partners and collaborators, as well as the support and interventions of the Hon. Member of Parliament for Talensi, towards advancing development in the district.
Beyond showcasing achievements, the Assembly provided updates on completed projects, ongoing interventions, projects yet to commence and outstanding development priorities. Equally important was the opportunity for citizens to express their concerns, ask questions and make recommendations.
Issues raised during the engagement are being documented to inform the development of a working document that will guide follow-up actions, improve service delivery and strengthen accountability.
The Assembly remains committed to transparency, inclusive governance and participatory development. We believe that accounting to the people goes beyond presenting achievements; it also means listening, acknowledging challenges and working together to address the development needs of our communities.
