TALENSI DISTRICT ASSEMBLY OBSERVES GREEN GHANA DAY 2026

The Hon. District Chief Executive, Hon. John Millim Nabwomya, today led the Talensi District Assembly in the observance of this year’s Green Ghana Day by planting trees within the Assembly premises.
The exercise was attended by the District Coordinating Director (DCD), heads of departments and agencies including the Forestry Department, Ghana Health Service, Ghana Education Service, Department of Agriculture, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service, Assembly staff, and other stakeholders. All participants planted trees as a demonstration of their commitment to environmental sustainability and the protection of our natural resources.
Addressing participants, Hon. John Millim Nabwomya emphasized the importance of preserving the environment and called on everyone to take tree planting and environmental protection seriously. He urged residents to learn from the recent devastating floods experienced in Accra, noting that environmental degradation, indiscriminate dumping of waste, and the destruction of vegetation contribute significantly to such disasters.
The DCE encouraged all citizens to nurture the trees planted and adopt environmentally responsible practices to help create a greener, safer, and more resilient Talensi District for future generations.
“Plant a tree today, protect our future tomorrow.”
